We recommend booking at least 2-4 weeks ahead, especially for weekend sunset sails and peak season (June-September). Corporate events and weddings should be booked 1-3 months in advance. Last-minute availability sometimes opens up — reach out and we'll check.

Every charter includes your captain and crew, a professional bartender, basic ice and mixers, and full use of the vessel and its amenities (sound system, seating areas, deck space). Catering, premium bar packages, and decorations are available as add-ons so you only pay for what you want.

No surprises. Your quote includes the charter fee, crew, and any add-ons you select. The only additional cost is crew gratuity (18% is customary, similar to a restaurant). We break down every cost before you put down a deposit so you know exactly what you're paying.

A 25% deposit secures your date. The remaining balance is due 14 days before your charter. We accept all major credit cards and can set up a payment plan for larger events.

BYOB policies vary by vessel. Some of our boats allow you to bring your own drinks while others require using the onboard bar service for liability reasons. We'll let you know the policy for your specific vessel when you book. Outside food is generally welcome.

Safety comes first. If conditions are unsafe, we'll contact you at least 24 hours in advance and reschedule to your preferred alternative date at no extra cost — or issue a full refund, your choice. Light overcast or mild wind usually doesn't affect sailing; San Diego has 260+ days of sunshine.

Cancel 30+ days out: full refund. Cancel 15-29 days: 50% refund or free reschedule. Cancel within 14 days: no refund, but we'll help you transfer the booking to a new date when possible. If we cancel due to weather, you always get a full refund or free reschedule.

It depends on conditions. Light rain with calm seas? Many groups still go out and have a blast. Heavy rain, high winds, or rough swells? We'll reschedule. Your captain makes the final call based on safety, and we'll always communicate proactively.

San Diego Bay is very protected, so water is typically calm. Our catamarans have two hulls which dramatically reduces rocking compared to regular boats. Tips: take Dramamine 30 minutes before boarding, stay hydrated, eat a light meal beforehand, and stay on deck where you can see the horizon. Most guests feel perfectly fine.

Absolutely. All vessels carry Coast Guard-required safety equipment including life jackets in all sizes. Our crew is trained in safety procedures and first aid. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The calm waters of San Diego Bay make it family-friendly.

All of our captains hold USCG (United States Coast Guard) credentials, carry current first aid and CPR certifications, and have years of experience navigating San Diego Bay. Every vessel is fully insured and undergoes regular safety inspections.

Boarding location depends on the vessel — most depart from Harbor Island or Shelter Island. We'll send detailed directions, a Google Maps pin, and parking instructions in your confirmation email. Street and lot parking are available near all departure points.

Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled departure. This gives you time to park, find the dock, and get settled. Your charter time starts at the booked departure time, not when you arrive, so punctuality means more time on the water.

Sunscreen (reef-safe preferred), sunglasses, a light jacket or layers for the evening breeze, and non-marking shoes or sandals. We provide everything else. Leave the coolers at home — we've got drinks covered. Pro tip: bring a phone charger for all those sunset photos.

Yes — all of our vessels have onboard restroom facilities. The AOLANI catamaran has two restrooms for guest comfort.

Yes! All boats have a sound system with Bluetooth connectivity. Create a playlist beforehand and connect your phone when you board. Want a DJ for your event? We can arrange that too — just ask when booking.

We partner with top San Diego caterers to offer everything from light appetizer platters to full multi-course meals. Options include Mexican, Mediterranean, BBQ, sushi, and more. Dietary restrictions and allergies are always accommodated — just let us know in advance.

Our standard bar package includes a curated selection of beer, wine, and spirits plus mixers, ice, and garnishes. Premium and craft upgrades are available. Non-alcoholic options are always on hand. Your bartender handles everything — you just enjoy.

Absolutely — banners, flowers, table settings, and signage are all welcome. The only restrictions: no glitter, confetti, or balloons (they're harmful to marine life and can clog drains). We can recommend decoration vendors or set things up before your group arrives.

Some of our captains are ordained and can perform the ceremony right on the water. Let us know during booking and we'll match you with the right captain. We can also accommodate bringing your own officiant on board.

The AOLANI catamaran accommodates up to 48 guests. For groups of 49-96, we can arrange dual catamarans sailing side by side. Intimate sailboats hold up to 6 guests. We'll help you find the right vessel for your group size.

Yes — we handle team outings, client entertainment, holiday parties, and executive retreats. Corporate packages include flexible timing, custom catering, and branding options. We can provide W-9s and work with your event planning team.
